What are Synchronicities & How to Attract them in Your Life

Was it a coincidence… or something more?

A certain number pops up wherever you go; an old friend you haven't seen in 20 years since high school appears the same day you're looking at her picture in a yearbook; you're singing a song and turn on the radio - and the same song is playing.

Such coincidences, here described by Thomas Ropp in the Arizona Republic, March 29,1999, are examples of synchronicity.

The concept is linked to the psychology of Carl Jung. Jung didn't coin the word (the "simultaneousness" sense of "synchronicity" was already in use), but he gave it special importance in his writings.
Jung believed that such "meaningful coincidences" play an important role in our lives.
Today, some people even look to synchronicities for spiritual guidance.

Synchronicities are incidents of spiritual significance that ask us to momentarily dampen our self-obsession and consider the possibility of the divine.
Synchronistic experiences leave us with a curious sense that we should pay attention.

This term is originally coined by psychologist Carl Jung that refers to deeply meaningful coincidences which mysteriously occur in your life.

When you experience synchronicity, you'll have experiences that seem far too significant to be mere day-to-day serendipitous encounters.
“But what does it all mean?!?”

As the oracle says to Neo in the movie The Matrix,
“We are all here to do what we are all here to do.” Is that enough?

In terms of synchronicities, perhaps, we can find what our purpose is in these happenings.

Here are 5 easy tips to Attract More Positive Synchronicities in Your Life.

1. Know your purpose

Knowing your purpose in life helps you live life with integrity.
People who know their purpose in life know who they are, what they are, and why they are.
And when you know yourself, it becomes easier tolive a life that's true to your core values.
If you are already on this path, you know how strongly the universe supports you with it.

Ikigai ( 生き甲斐)
is a Japanese concept that combines the terms iki, meaning “alive” or “life,” and gai, meaning “benefit” or “worth.” When combined, these terms mean that which gives your life worth, meaning, and purpose.

2. Open your eyes

This is obvious. With your eyes shut to your outer and inner world, you will never see the meaningful coincidences or signs that occur. You may, as you would in a dark room, get used to it all. But life is not about getting used to your surroundings.
It’s about truly living

Bringing awareness to your self, meaning your feelings and thoughts as well as behavior, to even your environment and those who surround you is how these subtle and even large synchronicities will happen more and more.

3. Just let it be

This isn’t so much a test of patience as it is a release, letting go not only of what you “want” or
desire, but letting go of the idea of the future outcome of this desire.
It is an intention to live in the present.

You can still have a dream, a vision, an idea, a desire. This is your dharma, your purpose. Let it out into the world and work on what you have.

"In order to understand the dance one must be still. And in order to truly understand stillness one must dance."

4. Be thankful

Sometimes, it’s easier to focus on what we don’t have, rather than what we do have.
It’s important to take time out and remember all of the things to be thankful for that many of us take for granted.

Start to cherish your life’s own fruits, take a bite of your apple and taste its sweetness, let it nourish your soul and body.

You will start to see the difference almost immediately, and synchronicity will follow.
The best way to do this is by actively checking your thoughts, making a note of the same and using positive affirmations to change thought pattern.

5. Believe

Go with your gut, trust your instincts and believe in your inner guide or voice.
So often we hear people say, “I knew that was going to happen, I should have listened to myself.”

Start embodying that belief, and those meaningful coincidences will start popping up around you like mushrooms after a rain shower.
That’s when you’ll say, “I’m so glad I followed my instinct.” Trust is the pillar of any relationship, even one with yourself.
